Typhoon Haiyan disaster relief efforts

The Project

Pentair partnered with Water Mission, Action Against Hunger and the American Red Cross to help provide support for clean water and other critical needs to those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines in 2013.

The Solution

Pentair was one of the first responders to partner with Water Mission Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts. Pentair helped to deploy 20 Living Water Treatment Systems, technology that provides emergency water filtration and treatment to people in need. These systems were delivered to the Philippines within 48 hours of the typhoon, providing emergency water needs for over 100,000 people. Additionally, Pentair products were a critical part of the solution to bring water to thousands of displaced people.

Impact

Emergency Assistance

With Pentair’s help, Action Against Hunger provided more than 175 tons of emergency assistance to 650,000 typhoon survivors across the Philippines.

Support Provides Clean Water

Pentair support allowed Action Against Hunger to immediately distribute emergency clean water and hygiene kits to over 1,500 households.

Donations Matched

The Pentair Foundation matched, dollar for dollar, all donations by Pentair employees to the American Red Cross' Typhoon Haiyan disaster program. Employees carried out donation drives, charity breakfasts and solicited individual donations. All funds donated supported the American Red Cross with their disaster relief and recovery efforts.
