Team Pentair

As “Team Pentair,” employees give time and talent to important issues, providing leadership to help improve communities where we live and work. Employees are encouraged to volunteer in teams, using their collective resources to support nonprofit organizations in Pentair communities.

Some examples of Team Pentair in action:

Mentoring high school students on science education and employment skills in Minnesota, United States
Planting trees and sponsoring rain water harvesting in India and United Arab Emirates
Participating in charity walks, runs and rides from Belgium and India to the Middle East and the United States
Serving on nonprofit boards and community grant committees
Volunteering in collection warehouses and donating backpacks in California, United States
Donating in-kind products, such as pumps to help irrigate fields in Uganda, water filters for elementary schools in Mexico and water purification systems for natural disaster victims in China and the Philippines

Matching Gifts

The Pentair Foundation’s Matching Gift Program encourages employees to make financial contributions to qualified nonprofit organizations. The program enables employees to double, within limits, their contributions to eligible organizations.

FIRST Robotics

For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology.

In the FIRST Robotics Competition program high school students work in teams with adult mentors to design, build and program robots and then compete in regional tournaments. The program continues in the off-season with workshops, local competitions, community outreach, and the mentoring of other students.

Over the years, Pentair employees have mentored more than 500 students on FIRST teams to help students design and build robots, market their efforts, and budget and finance their projects.

In 2012, Pentair sponsored 18 teams with approximately 300 students, helping students to develop strong teamwork, problem-solving and communications skills and build an interest in future science and technology careers.

Lausanne, Switzerland

In 2013, Pentair employees in Lausanne, Switzerland raised enough funds to drill five wells and build 60 latrines in rural villages with the nonprofit organization Morija, a group working in Burkina Faso where only 60 percent of the population has access to drinking water.

Almost 90 percent of employees participated in fundraising efforts, including riding in the Decathlon Classic bike race in Belgium, donating part of their salary, and organizing events such as raffles and book sales.

Pentair race participants overshot their fundraising goals, helping to bring wells, sanitation equipment and WASH hygiene educational campaigns to three villages in Burkina Faso. More than 1,500 people drink water from these three wells today.

In 2014 Lausanne employees are again on the move in amplifying their passion for getting more people access to clean, safe water.
